Sharifa brings more than 20 years of cross-sector leadership experience across technology, higher education, government policy and international development. Her work focuses on strategy, equity and organizational change, with experience across Canada, the United States and the Caribbean.

A Project Management Professional (PMP), Sharifa has extensive board governance experience across education, non-profit and community organizations. She completed graduate studies in Social and Political Thought at York University and holds a degree in Political Science, Africana Studies and Mathematics from Williams College.

Outside of her professional and governance work, Sharifa enjoys exploring parks and trails and spending time outdoors.
