Verna Longmore is the Program Director for Spirit of Our Youth, a subsidiary of Taproot Community Support Services. She leads culturally based programs that support Indigenous children, youth, and families across Alberta. Verna is dedicated to building a strong team that supports these individuals through Indigenous ways of knowing, doing, and being.

Working closely with Indigenous Knowledge Keepers and Elders, Verna integrates traditional teachings, language, and ceremony into Spirit of Our Youth’s programs. Guided by humility, honesty, compassion, and wisdom, Verna is committed to fostering a sense of identity, belonging, and healing for those we serve.
