The best outcomes come from the steady care of a strong team. For Oak youth, that team was Hannah Gowland, Kodie Love, and Karmeyn Loiselle. Together, they created the stability and support he needed to grow into the confident young man he is today.

He came into our care in December 2020, facing many challenges. Through person-centred care, wraparound supports, and strong community connections, including USMA, CYMH, and Haahuupayak Elementary, he began to thrive.

Hannah built structure and routines that encouraged self-confidence. Karmeyn fostered cultural connections and friendships with her creative, fun spirit. Kodie brought calm and consistency, modelling family values and always being there to listen.

With their guidance, he achieved so much: from making the Rep soccer team two years in a row, to improving his grades, speaking in his language at graduation, and dancing proudly in regalia with his classmates.

This August, he transitioned into foster care. We’re proud of his journey and grateful to Hannah, Kodie, and Karmeyn for showing what is possible when care is consistent, person-centred, and grounded in community.
