On September 3, 2025, Taproot Community Support Services made history by becoming the first organization in Canada’s social services sector—and the largest company in the country—to transition to an Employee Ownership Trust. This change places ownership in the hands of Taproot’s 750 employees, ensuring the organization remains purpose-driven, locally grounded, and Canadian-owned for the long term.
